Pair of French 19th Century Neo-Classical St. White Carrara Marble Candlesticks
About the Item
An exquisite pair of French 19th century neo-classical st. ormolu, patinated bronze and white Carrara marble candlesticks. The pair are each raised by a circular base with a moulded rim including a stylized ormolu beaded band. Above is an eagle with open wings standing on a marble column richly decorated by gilted chains and finely chiseled ormolu mounts at both bottom and top. The patinated bronze eagle is below the ormolu chased candlecup and bobeche with a foliage design. All original gilt and mounts.
