Pair of Victorian English Cast Brass Candlesticks with Rearing Figural Lions
About the Item
This pair of solid brass candlesticks are unsigned, but believed to have been made in England in circa 1880, in the period Victorian style. The candlesticks are quite detailed in their casting and depict a rearing male lion with one outstretched paw and a swirling serpentine tail standing on a stepped base. Above the lions is a swirled handle and nicely shaped cups and accented by pierced wax pans.
