About the Item
Henri Vian, (French, active second half 19th century), circa 1880. He was a bronze-caster active in the second half of the 19th Century, made a lot of interior decorations with chimney mantelpieces, ormolu and patinated-mounted vases and chandeliers.
Indulge in the opulence of a bygone era with this exquisite set of 4 Henri Vian Silver Gilt Bronze Candlesticks, crafted in the resplendent Louis XV style. A true embodiment of the Rococo taste, these candlesticks transport the beholder to the lavish grandeur of the late 19th century, circa 1880, showcasing the unparalleled artistry synonymous with Henri Vian's masterful creations.
Each candlestick is a symphony of intricate details, intricately cast in silver gilt bronze to capture the essence of the Louis XV aesthetic. The Rococo influence is unmistakable, with sinuous curves, ornate foliate motifs, and the whimsical asymmetry that defines this iconic period in art and design. The candlesticks stand as miniature works of art, each one a testament to Henri Vian's commitment to preserving and revitalizing the elegance of the 18th-century French court.
The silver gilt finish lends a luxurious golden hue to the bronze, enhancing the overall richness and regality of these candlesticks. The play of light against the gilded surfaces adds a mesmerizing dimension, casting a warm and inviting glow that complements the intended purpose of these magnificent pieces.
Elevating their status to museum quality, these candlesticks not only capture the spirit of the Louis XV era but also serve as a tangible link to the history of decorative arts. Whether displayed individually or as a set, they command attention and admiration, becoming focal points in any curated collection or distinguished setting.
