Tortoise Shell Travel Clock, Fusee Movement, with Oak Travel Case, circa 1780

About the Item

An ultra rare Georgian miniature tortoiseshell bracket timepiece travel clock, caddy top with white metal swing handle and flame finials, the 7cm square brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and mask spandrels, single fusee chain driven mechanism with a Vernier adjustment to the top. On a matching wall bracket which slides into the back of the clock, height 22cm. Complete with a fitted oak carry case with slide out front panel allowing the time to be read whilst still cased for traveling, with later key. In running order and in original unrestored condition.
