18th Century French Louis XV Carved Oak Tall Case Clock from Normandy

About the Item

This elegant, antique long case clock was crafted in Normandy, France, circa 1780. The tall grandfather clock stands on a straight bottom plinth; it features a curved bonnet top over a carved flower basket and a highly carved glass door. The case has a long center carved door with raised panel decorated with floral and leaf motifs. The tall clock mechanism has been cleaned up and checked up, and is in excellent working order with two weights, pendulum, and winding key; the clock keeps great time and strikes on the hour and half hour. This stately time keeper is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use with delicate carvings, and adorns a rich oak patina. Measures: 20"W x 10" D x 94" H.
