Louis XVI Style Marble and Gilt Bronze Sphere Form Clock by Samuel Marte
About the Item
This superb quality Neo-Classical style clock features three putti supporting a star studded globe. The white Carrara marble base is mounted with finely cast gilt bronze, or ormolu. The eight day movement is by the renowned maker Samuel Marte, who received the Medaille D'Or, Paris 1900.
The clock is in fine working order, and chimes the hour and half hour.
