Sleigh-Form Silvered Bronze and Green Onyx Mantel Clock

About the Item

Sleigh-form silvered bronze and green onyx mantel clock French, late 19th century Measures: Height 27cm, width 32cm, depth 29cm This beautiful and unusual clock is formed as a silvered bronze sleigh, which is set upon a rectangular block of green onyx which is further set upon a silvered bronze base with four acanthus leaf form feet and a shell motif cartouche to the centre. The sleigh atop the onyx is cast entirely in silvered bronze, and features scrolling decorations all over. The clock dial is mounted to the seated section of the sleigh and features black Arabic numerals on a white face with ormolu hands.
