Glass, enamel and gilt brass
Approximate size: 6.5 (h) x 7.5 (w) x 2.5 (d) in.
This exceptional and beautiful timepiece is appropriately fitted with a time-themed Zodiac motif. The ground is conceived in a lovely blue enamel contrasted against stars and the symbols of the Zodiac. The curving hour hands feature engraved sun and moon motifs. The clock is suspended elegantly inside a glass border framed by a simple and elegant gilt brass rim and stepped base.
The French timepiece company, JUST, was a distinctive line produced by Hour Lavigne, the successors to Charles Hour, the French clockmaker who founded his company in the 1880's. JUST also produced luxury white label timepieces for Tiffany, Hamilton & Inch, et al.
Condition is very good and commensurate with age. Minor rubbing to the gilt brass along the edges and corners.
