Victorian Walnut and Ebony Vienna ‘Regulator’ Wall Clock Victorian Vienna ‘Regulator’ wall clock housed in a walnut case with ebony mouldings, architectural pediment and sweeping base with ebonised finial. Original enamel beat plaque to the inside of the case. Two piece enamel dial with brass bezel, Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands. Eight day spring driven movement with anchor escapement striking the hours and halves on a coiled gong. Original grid iron pendulum with large brass bob. C.1890

Baillie defines a Grand Sonnerie movement as follows: "A form of quarter-striking in which the hour last struck is also repeated at each hour."
