Equestrian / Jockey CAP Inkstand / Inkwell, C.1890

About the Item

A handsome Horseshoe shaped inkstand, the base made from solid English Oak mounted with a silver plated horseshoe and a square gallery to secure the glass inkwell. The glass inkwell is topped with a hinged brass lid in the form of a Jockey's cap with a silver plated peak, slight wear to edge. There is a support for a dip pen, the inkwell can sit either way to have the pen at the back or at the front. I am including the pen shown (new) to provide a completed look. Excellent condition, minor wear commensurate with age and use. 5 1/4" x 6 1/2" x 5 3/4" tall to top of Jockey cap. Item: 44161 Free worldwide registered airmail directly from the UK.
