A very pretty and unusual pair of English gold mounted carved shell cameos of cupid and psyche on English black marble base. Extremely finely carved and clearly conceived as a pair and mounted together from inception. Each cut of the sculpting tool can be seen under a strong glass, quite extraordinary, late 18th-early 19th century.
