Unusual Antique English Novelty Match Striker, circa 1880

About the Item

A wonderful and most unusual novelty match strike made from cast brass and just back from a professional clean and polish by our silversmith. The non-safety matches (the ones shown for photographic purposes only) would sit in he coopered bucket or pail; these would then me struck against the wheel's textured surface by turning the handle. English in origin and dating to circa 1880 in excellent condition measuring 5 1/4" x 2 5/8" x 4 1/4" tall. Item: 41953.
