19th Century Cast Brass Satyr Bacchus Pan with Grapes and Grapevines Pen Wipe
About the Item
Antique heavy cast brass satyr with grapes and grapevines in his hair.
With this grape and leafage it easily could be Bacchus and his pointy ears make him also a pan kind of figure.
This cup is not as big as the drinking cups you see with the same satyr, this cup is smaller and it has an insert in which a piece of wood with bristle fits.
This satyr cup is a pen wipe, from back in the days when people used a fountain or a crown pen and ink and you needed your pen brushed.
Now this collectors item could work as a very special paperweight.
