About the Item
A fine circa 1875 bronze of a dead sparrow screwed to a green marble plinth by Paul Comolera, of Paris, France, of life-like accuracy superb detail. Comolera's dates are 1818-1897 and was primarily recognized for his depictions of birds. The bird has not been removed from the base, therefore it cannot be determined if this piece is signed, but it is exactly the same detail, etc. as signed pieces.
Dimensions of bird: 4 7/8 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide by 1 inch high. Dimensions of green marble plinth: 6 inches long by inches 3 1/2 wide by 7/8 inches high.
