Pair Giltwood Buddhist Altar Lotus Flowers & Vases
About the Item
A pair of beautifully intricately hand carved lacquered and 23K giltwood altar flowers displayed in bronze vases. Late Meiji Period. Lotus leaves and flowers of this type were placed in bronze vases as ritual offerings in place of real flowers and symbolize the various stages of life.
Overall size with flowers in vase approximately 15" tall x 10" widest x 7" deep. Various of individual flowers sizes: tallest 12.5" tall, smallest 6" tall. Each vase has 9 flowers, 18 total flowers.
