About the Item

A beautifully sculpted 18th century late Italian Baroque 'Santo Nino de Jesus'. Hand carved and polychrome painted walnut with a true-to-life 'encarnacion' (hand painted flesh like surface), a skillfully carved anatomy and 'media luna' style eyes - hand cut and reverse painted glass. Overall with excellent wear and patina. The Nino is displayed on a high quality custom made base.
