1960s Extremely Tall And Thin Witco Don Quixote Wooden Cedar Sculpture. Brutal Mid Century Wooden Sculpture Stands 85 Inches Tall On A Wooden 12 x 12 Platform. This Listing Is Of A Wooden Sculpture Only, The Tall Lance Like Object (My Tall Vintage Rod Iron Candle Stick Is Not Included) In My Pics Show That A Pole Can Be Inserted And Held By Don Quixote Himself.
Excellent Vintage Condition For It's Age. The Aging Shows The Caricature Of Don Quixote's Life As It Is Played Out. Wear To Cedar Wood Is Consistent With Age And Concept.
Don Quixote de la Mancha, A Wonderful 400 Year Old Novel Of A Spanish Middle Aged Man Who Read Many Books On Chivalry, Romance And Fantastic Characters, These Books Sparked The Madness In His Head. He Believed That His Favorite Books Portrayed The World As It Is. So He Started To See Everything With Magical Eyes. The World Around Him Did Not Share His Vision So He Faced A Lot Of Misunderstanding and Challenges In His Relationships. In The Mind Of Don Quixote, He Was Sure That He Was A Knight In A Chivalry World Full Of Fantastic Beasts And Enemies That He Had To Fight. And Took Upon Himself To Help the Poor And Defenseless And Do Away With Evil Just Like A True Knight Would Do.
