Beakhorn Stump Blacksmith Anvil

About the Item

The first thing I thought upon seeing this was Constantin Brancusi's bird sculptures and the questions about the nature of abstract art it asked. This is an early 20th century beakhorn stump anvil from a blacksmith or tinsmiths sheet metal workshop. Stump is 19 inches high by 13 inches diameter.
