About the Item
This heavy bronze abstract Mid-Century Modern sculpture entitled "Worshipper" is by a sculptor named Albers Henselmann, circa 1890-1974. The original label is on the bottom. From every angle the abstractions change. This is a very sophisticated Mid-Century Modern bronze. It is even off kilter on the base. Fully intended, which gives it even more interest. He was mostly active in the Midwest of German descent. His sculptures are in the Chicago Art Institute, the Museum Ritterhaus in Germany and Stadtische Galerie Offenburg in Germany just to name a few. This is a great period table top sculpture from the 50s. The bronze is dark and has a patina. The presence is commanding in form.
