Early 20th century Berber Ceramic vessel

About the Item

These ceramic "butter churners" could be tied by the handles on each side to a donkey for transport. One of the handles shows extensive wear which proves that was used for a very long time, an authentic example. The abstract painting decorating the ceramic have a symbolic and talismanic meaning.
