Fantasy Clock by Richard Birkett

About

Relatively restrained fantasy clock by New York City artist Richard Birkett. An early example of Birkett's post-modernist, steampunk oeuvre, dated 1985 (he began making these clocks in 1984). Birkett recycled industrial debris such as machine parts, giving obsolete objects new life. Along with painted wood and metal, the present work features PVC pipe and wire. Price is for the case only; back is removable but there are no works inside. Signed.
