    Never seen before, concrete Black Forest style umbrella stand. This is another one of our recent rare and great finds. We were given 1stdibs in buying several unique antiques and works of art from a lady who had to move to a smaller home due to old age. This concrete Black Forest Style bear was purchased 26 years ago from an antique dealer in the east of Holland (by her late husband) and it had been in their hallway ever since. Since we have never seen a concrete Black Forest bear before, we have no idea about the exact age. What we can see, is that the original bear stand was beautifully carved. Why someone took the time and effort to make a mold (which is very time consuming and often costly) and then only make one cast in concrete copy, is a mystery to us.
