About the Item
Axel Nordell was a Swedish sculptor born in Ljusdal. His studies conducted Nordell including at the Art Academy in Stockholm among others, Carl Malmsten, as well as in Canada, San Francisco, Paris and Venice. Nordell created initially mainly in wood, but later also in other materials such as copper, bronze, concrete, and fiberglass. Characteristic for his sculptures is their expressive forms and vivid colors. Nordell has created public artwork in both Sweden and abroad. He had HM King Carl XVI Gustaf as a young student.
