In this modern human world. Aren’t we living in a collective amnesia by forgetting where we come from? By burning our roots? Our ancestors used to create several rock pyramidal structures. Not only in mesoamerica, but in several places in the globe. And in different stages of time. Archeologists and scientists believed in many theories… from a symbolic representation of fire to a vane IDEA of a desire of touching the sky… pretty limited theories aren’t they? This piece is a way of asking if this modern human world we’re living, based on newtonian science, religion and matter is a path through transcendency and evolution, or just a design that is killing the planet and the species we live with and that we humans think we posses? Designer's biography Treko concrete is a Mexican studio based in Ensenada, that has as a purpose to create functional handcrafted furniture and sculptural pieces to tell stories with art and design. With the direction of Andres Monnier, Treko concrete now creates handmade fire pits, art objects, and functional furniture with natural stone, mirror, concrete, wood, and metal. Treko works with different techniques and languages of creation to innovate new purposes in conventional furniture.
