Two French Caen Stone Architectural Models

About the Item

An excellent pair of mid 19th century French Caen stone architectural scaled models reputedly from a church destroyed in WWII. With their beautiful cream tone and crisp quality, these carved limestone fragments are reminiscent of blind arcades found in historic ecclesiastical and gothic architecture. A fragment from European history, these antique architectural pieces have preserved exceptionally over the decades, offering a glimpse into French craftsmanship of times gone by.
