Vintage 50s Italian brass sculptural floor lamp, heart shaped shade, bark finish
About the Item
Offered for sale is a slender vintage floor lamp in solid brass, with finely hand-decorated base and lampshade and extruded body. The main body has a peculiar "gear" section, while the other parts - base and heart shaped lampshade - are smooth, with an interesting "bark" decoration, clearly hand made, reminiscent of works by celebrated sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro, just like the beds he desigend with Osvaldo Borsani.
The lamp is very well preserved, still shiny yet with a rich, even and very pleasant patina that confirms its vintage origin. It is in full working order, as proved by the attached pictures. It has been rewired at some point of its life, and it is currently operated throuh a dimmer sliding switch which can, however, easily be converted to a regular one.
