Good general condition, small chip at the mouth of the fish and below the tail
Art Nouveau
Amalric Walter, born in 1870, trained at the Manufacture of Sèvres, then set up on his own to produce glass blocks and earthenware (few examples have reached us)
After the Universal Exhibition of 1900 where he was rewarded; between 1905 and 1915, he collaborated with Maison Daum and created, based on the drawings of chief decorator Henri Bergé, more than a hundred models of art nouveau glass paste (animals, floral decorations, etc.) His reputation established, both in Paris and in Nancy, he created his own workshop and continued his work with Bergé; more than 500 models will be born from their work.
The work and technique of glass paste being complex and slow, the number of copies of each piece is limited.
Amalric Walter closed his workshop in 1935
