Vintage US 1994 Rubber Negative Doc Holliday Ceramic Mould Cowboy Rough Cut 1363

About the Item

Large vintage industrial 1994 cowboy rough cut 1363 rubber negative Doc Holliday mould to make a negative plaster mould with. With the plaster mould you can make a ceramic slip cast figurine, in this case a figurine of a 13" Trail Boss cowboy. Slip casting is a ceramic forming technique for pottery and other ceramics. Liquid clay body slip is poured into the plaster mould and allowed to form a layer, the cast, on the inside walls of the mould. It gives very precise and consistent shapes, and is now the most common technique used for commercial mass-produced pottery, although it began as a technique for fine pottery, especially porcelain. In the rubber it reads, in negative: ROUGH CUT 1363 TRAIL BOSS Mold © 1994 DOC HOLLIDAY.

  • 1920s Czech Taxidermy Cow Tur Domácí Bos Taurus Hind Leg Bone Classroom Study
    Located in Haarlem, NL
Very interesting early 20th Century Czech made taxidermy cow "Tur Domácí Bos Taurus" hind leg for classroom study, probably used at a University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The leg is at least a hundred years old, you can see by the way it is fixed together (the curly iron thread) and the surface ware of the real bones, it is smooth and yellowish. The iron and wood holder however is probably aded very recently (my guess is in the 80s 90s). Tur Domácí Bos Taurus (which is Czech and Latin for domestic bovine, or domestic cow) is an even-toed ungulate from the genus Bos of the bovine family...
