A Beatifully Hand-carved Brienz Black forest Hall Stand with a Mama Bear and Cub
About the Item
A beatifully 19th Century hand-carved Brienz black forest hall stand with a mama bear and cub, this naturalistically carved hall stand depicts a standing moma bear next to a tree, with open mouth and eyes ( glass ) watching her cub in the branches above, two looped branches to hold canes, walking sticks and umbrellas, and the upper branches on each side are for hanging hats, scarves, jackets etc. Sculpted black forest carvings originated from the small town of Brienz in Switzerland. Circa 1880.
