Title: The Abduction of Psyche Maker: Henri Godet (French, 1863-1937) Date: circa 1896 Dimension: 40 in. x 16 in. x 10 in. Notes: The love story of cupid and the beautiful princess Psyche. Godet’s mastery is evident in this figural group, especially Cupid’s pointed wings, the gaze, the drapery, curved body, and bending of the knee. Inscribed: W. BOUGUEREAU P. / H. Godet SCPT / Salon des Beaux-Arts 1896.
