Danish Mid-Century Teak Carved Model of a Fish
About the Item
A stylish Danish attributed mid-century carved teak model of a fish mounted on a base,. The fish carved from a single piece of wood and is unusual in that it can be rotated and viewed from two sides. To one side the fish is hand carved with a curved body with carved fins and protruding round eye and open mouth with the oval shaped base polished and flat sided. When turned is hollowed out with a contrasting protruding eye and the same carved fin features, however the edge of the base is carved and angled to simulate water. The stand is marked with a double wave mark to the base.
Provenance: acquired in the British Art Market.
