Early 20th Century French Bronze Pig Sculpture on Black Marble Base

About
Decorate a shelf or a desk with this beautifully carved bronze sculpture; created in France, circa 1910, the farm animal stands on rocky ground with his back leg tied to a post. The pig figure is signed on the base but is unreadable; it is however attributed to P. Delabrierre. The sculpture is in excellent condition with a rich patinated finish, and could also be mounted into an interesting and fun table lamp.
Paul-Édouard Delabrièrre (1829-1912) was a French animal sculptor; he was an important member of the animalier school who exhibited at the Salon from 1848 through 1882. He had 70 of his sculptures juried into the prestigious Salon Art Exhibition held annually in Paris. His monumental work called "L'Equitation" adorns the facade of the Louvre. Listed in the Benezit.
