About the Item
Carved and polychromed wood; retains original painted surface. Glass Eyes.
Attributed to John Dawson, Trenton, New Jersey, 1900-1925.
Dawson worked as a kiln operator at the Scammel Pottery Co., in Trenton. The Art Nouveau designs of the pottery manufactured there influenced his carving and painting style.
