The stunning expression of a large and vibrant earthenware sculpture of a tiger, painted and glazed in white and orange-red with black markings, sitting snarling and resplendent with his teeth bared.
Made in Italy, circa 1970s. Hand executed by a talented Italian artist, models of this type were made in Italy by realist ceramicists in the 1960s and 1970s.
The tiger is presented in good condition, there are some restauration on the right foot base and at the raised paw and the tip of the tail and one of the top incisor teeth.
