Lio Waste sculptural Bin & container Exclusive at VGO ASSOCIATES Designed by VALENTINA GUIDI OTTOBRI Handmade by GIUSEPPE COLI' AT FRATELLI COLI' (PUGLIA) A Limited Edition Series Of 3 Beasts Bins. For The First Time The Bins Become Functional Sculptures. The Objects Of Everyday Use Acquire The Magic And Charm Of Mythology. These Boxes Made Of Glazed Ceramic Can Be Used Indoors And Outdoors. The Head Is Removable To Allow Cleaning And Can Also Be Used Alone As A Sculpture To Hang On The Wall. This Triptych Of Bins Is An Allegory That Refers To The Past, Present And Future. It Takes Its Cue From The Grotesque Trifronti Of The Fifteenth Century And From The Famous Painting By Titian "Allegory Of Prudence" Which Is A Swarm Of Muzzles And Faces That Fit Together Lio Is The Lion Who Represents The Present, Sudden And Violent Devours Every Moment. This sculpture is part family of monsters, this fascinating collection of total black talismans is created in collaboration with the greatest apulian masters of ceramics, the Colì brothers from Apulia. The works are inspired by medieval bestiaries, in a history prior to that of the renaissance, where ugliness and chaos were part of everyday life. Over time these frightening creatures have become some sort of talismans, capable of protecting those who owned them. Resuming the studies on medieval "grilli" we focused on the word "increase" that accompanied these amulets. So we have endowed each of our monsters in our collection with their own values and virtues that increase the potential and abilities of those who rely on them.
