Unique Piece of Art Ceramic Monster Fish Made by Artist Tjen Tjauw-Soe
About the Item
Unique piece made by the Chinese-Indonesian artist Tjen Tjauw-Soe (1915-1975) who spent a big part of his life in the Netherlands. He originally worked as an interior architect but more and more started to develop as an artist. He painted a lot, mostly on silk. And he started making ceramic fantasy animals, of which this is a very good example.
This moulded ceramic sculpture has a very special character, comparable to those made by Picasso. The cheerfully colored creature clearly shows.
