Cette céramique est une création contemporaine de la tribu Wauja situé au Haut Xingu/ Brésil. Réalisée selon les méthodes traditionnelles avec des matières premières naturelles, son graphisme fort en font une pièce particulièrement originale. Le graphisme peint au pigment naturel est un marqueur de l’identité de la communauté que pour les Wauja est un géant univers des expressions visuelles. La sculpture représente un tapir, Elle est peinte en noir et orange, créant un effet de contraste et de profondeur qui met en valeur les détails de la sculpture. Les motifs et les formes géométriques sont significatifs dans la culture Wauja et représentent les croyances, les rituels et les traditions de la communauté. Les motifs en relief sur le dos de la tortue sont représentatifs de la culture Wauja et ajoutent une touche de complexité et de beauté à la sculpture.
