About the Item
Burmese carved sandstone Buddha sculpture.
Seated in dhyanasana with legs in virasana, the half lotus position, hands in dhyana mudra, the gesture of meditation.
Originates from pagoda / temple in Arakan, a coastal geographic region in southern Myanmar (Burma), circa 1600-1700.
Very good condition with natural age-related patina.
Provenance from Danish private collection.
