19th Century Burmese Kneeling Buddhist Monk Gilded Wood Temple Figure

About

19th century gilded kneeling Burmese Buddhist monk. Carved from one single piece of teak wood, with an underlaying red paint on which the gilt lacquer was applied and with multi colored glass inlays around the edge of the cape of the monk. The sculpture as some age cracks in the wood, some loss of gilt paint which make the red underlaying paint reappear, and some missing glass inlays, overall a nice patina, please refer to the photos.
