Very beautiful bronze statue by François Théodore Devaulx (1808-1870) dating from the 19th century representing an elegant young woman sitting in the grass contemplating a flower.
Devaulx signature on the base. Very good quality and perfect condition.

François Théodore Devaulx
François Théodore Devaulx worked for Albinet & Coulon Editrs and was responsible for producing some of the foundry's most impressive works. He participated in the Salon of French artists, of which he was a member, from 1845–70. He is buried in the cemetery of Pere Lachaise (36th division).
