19th Century French Bronze Figure of "Victorious Archer" After Eugene Marioton

About the Item

After Eugene Marioton (1854-1933), a patinated bronze model of a youth called 'Victorious Archer', the partially draped figure portrayed standing and with an arrow-filled quiver over his shoulder, holding a branch in the raised right hand. The present model, which possibly depicts Cupid as a young man, closely relates to the more famous 'Vainqueur' by Marioton, who also raises a laurel branch. See for example Christie's Amsterdam, 19th and 20th century Sculpture, 17 November 2004, lot 441 for this similar piece. Circa 1890 French Based signed: Eug. Marioton Condition: You can see one of the joins in his arm.... Otherwise excellent condition.
