Art Nouveau Terra Cotta Statue by Goldscheider
About the Item
This vintage rare Austrian Art Nouveau period terra cotta figural clock statue is signed by Albert Domingue Rose, an artist at the Friedrich Goldscheider terra cotta company. This sculpted polychromed terra cotta is masterfully detailed with decorative “lifelike” Art Nouveau period figures. The sculpted terra cotta is embellished with a colorful bowed acid cut art glass panel that conceals a working lamp. A copper clock face features Roman numerals accented with fancy black hands is permanently positioned above the aforementioned art glass panel & one center figure. The clock will require cleaning/service to keep time. This unique multi figural period sculpture is signed, stamped & numbered. It is in very good physical condition, but does require some work to be perfect. A chance to own a Goldscheider masterpiece.
