Bronze Fountain Head, "Silenus" 1896 Grand Tour Period by Sabatino De Angelis

About

This 19th century bronze fountain head was cast in 1896 by Sabatino De Angelis, from an ancient original which is in the National Museum of Naples. This particular casting was originally made for the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh commissioned by Andrew Carnegie himself. Purchased from a de-acquisition sale in the 1970s, this is one of a number of items that we had purchased and are now releasing.
