Bronze golfer sculpture Gentelman Golfer bronze material with brown patina Very good general condition Natural wear and tear over time Attributed P. Vannier Paul Vannier French sculptor and medalist (1880-1940) It has a stamp from the importer (Casa Vignes Argentina) Origin France Crica 1920 Paul Vannier is the author of A Pleureuse (1914), and in 1936 he created the Monument to Théophile Alexandre Steinlen commissioned by the Montmartre committee for the square Joël-Le Tac in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The stone group represents a couple kissing and surmounts a series of bronze bas-reliefs depicting soldiers, miners and women, surrounding a fountain in the shape of a lion's head. An exhibition catalog attributes to him a lost wax bronze, Sick Man He received orders for war memorials such as those of Avesnes-sur-Helpe in the North, inaugurated in 1929, 9 of Feignies also in the North, of Pont-sur-Sambre in Pas-de-Calais, erected in the cemetery of the commune (entrepreneur Bavay Lixon), or even of Meknes in Morocco (architect Gaston Goupil), inaugurated in 1925, where he also sculpted the cast iron statue weighing almost 2 tonnes of General Joseph-François Poeymirau, inaugurated on April 24, 1927 on the square facing the high school of the same name. He is the author of a medal for the 1906 Olympic Games in Athens.
