Bronze Wall Mounted Hook of Medusa and Serpent in the Roman Style



A most unusual cast bronze wall hook with the face of Medusa and a scrolled snake with hook. Nice dark patina in great antique condition. Stamp impressed upon foundry frame (see detail images). Theme is based on the story of Perseus and Andromeda, similar to a predella on an altarpiece.
