ceramic sculpture sea urchin N.1 - Grimpa Partnership
About the Item
This 2-piece sea urchin inspired sculpture might be displayed as a single piece (when putting one half on top of the other) or used as a two very unique bowls (when split apart).
When mounted as a single piece, it measures approximately 30 cm in total haight. The inside of each bowl has a diamenter of 15 cm and 8 cm in depth, while the spikes are 5 cm high. Kindly note that as the piece is entirely handmade, these measurements might vary slightly.
The production of each piece is 100% manual using both the slab building and coiling techniques. The modeling process takes around 3 days and then the piece is left to dry for one or two weeks until it can be bisque fired. After that, the piece is glazed and fired again to 1240 degrees celsius in oxidation atmosphere.
