ABOUT A plaster cast of a female torso by Christopher Tucker. Christopher Tucker was a famous makeup artist who was well known to have created John Hurt’s prosthetics for The Elephant Man and Michael Crawford’s mask in The Phantom of the Opera. This particular piece came from his personal collection named “Amanda”. CREATOR Christopher Tucker. Unsigned. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1950-1960. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Plaster. Substantial in weight. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. DIMENSIONS H 17 in. x W 17 in. x D 6 in. HISTORY Christopher Tucker was a British make-up artist for theater and film. He specialized in the creation of prosthetic make-up for horror films. Among his notable works were the make-up effects for The Elephant Man, The Company of Wolves, and the stage musical The Phantom of the Opera. Born: March 23, 1941, United Kingdom. Died: December 2022 (age 81 years).
