Paul Rosanowski "Narr" Patinated Bronze Figure 20th Century
Beautiful patinated bronze figure of a jester with a bat, he is in a dynamic pose, which gives the sensation of movement this is helped by his exaggerated features such as his limbs that are longer and his face that is very expressive.
Rosanowski studied painting and sculpture at the Berlin Art School and worked for several companies, later in his own studio in Berlin. His sculptures in particular are exceptionally artistic and, at the same time, fun. Rosenthal porcelain had several sculptures of his in his range. The motifs in his paintings are humorous, then apocalyptic and dark. After the Second World War he worked as a restorer at the Berlin State Museum at the Pergamon Museum.
