Fine gilt bronze statue “Bacchanale” after Claude Michel known as clodion. He was a French sculptor born in 1738. It depicts two dancing Bacchantes with a tambourine with a child satyr. Signed in the bronze Clodion 1738 at the base on the back. Mounted on a dark green marble. Clodion was one of the most esteemed sculptors of the 18 th century. He was noted for his works in bronze and marble.
