About the Item
A sensational and extremely decorative true pair of Italian 18th century Baroque giltwood, polychrome and faux painted marble cherub statues. Each impressive and large scale statue is raised by a beautiful rectangular base with concave corners and a striking and wonderfully executed faux painted marble designed mottled border. Above are spectacular and elaborately scrolled movements with a striking polychrome and giltwood finish emphasizing the elegant and most unique cloud design. The two charming and richly carved winged cherubs are seemingly floating amidst the scrolled clouds while draped in flowing fabric. Each displays wonderful attention to detail and striking facial expressions. Statement making with exceptional proportions.
